Rose McGowan Asked Million To Shave Off Eyebrows For FilmThe 37-year-old actress was asked by producers to remove her brows and shave back her hairline to play evil sorceress Marique in the new movie but she insisted she wouldn't do it unless the price was right.

She said: "The studio asked if I would shave my eyebrows and my hairline back to here, and I thought, 'Sure, if you give me $5 million.' "

However, the studio turned down her request, forcing the actress to spend hours at a time in the make-up chair getting ready for the role, which included slicking back her hair and wearing a prosthetic piece that went over her highbrows and back to the middle of her head.

She told 'Access Hollywood': "I sat from about two in the morning till around 7.30 in the morning."

Rose – who was in a car crash in 2007 - has also revealed she is having to turn down roles because of an arm injury which could be left irreparably damaged if she hurts the limb again.

She said: “I had a really severe injury which left me basically paralyzed in the right arm.

“I had three surgeries on it and I was told if I hurt myself again the doctors won’t be able to do anything more for me. With things like the remake of 'Red Sonja' which I was due to do, I would be using my arms a lot so I can’t do it. I used to be able to lift 20lbs. Now I can only lift 3lbs.”

The 'Charmed' actress claims she ran away from home when she was 13 and soon found herself being taken in by a group of men who liked to dress up as women.

She said: “At 13, when I was a runaway, I was taken in by the most amazing drag queens in Portland, Oregon. We didn’t always know where our next meal was coming from, but there was so much camaraderie and love.

“Not to mention, those girls could paint a face, and I learned how because of them.”

Rose – whose sister is a lesbian – says while she is straight, she regrets not having experiences with other women when she was growing up.

The 38-year-old star told The Advocate: “I disappoint myself. I’ve never even kissed a girl. Isn’t that funny? The girls I think are cute look like guys, but then I think, 'But if they open their shirt, they’ll have breasts.'

“You know that guy Brad Goreski, who was Rachel Zoe’s assistant? I’d be attracted to a girl version of him.”

Now Rose – who is currently single but has previously dated rocker Marilyn Manson and director Robert Rodriguez - wants to put that right by doing a lesbian love scene.

She said: “I’d be stoked to do a lesbian love scene. When asked if I’ve kissed a girl, I could finally say, 'Why, yes, I have. And I got paid.

“To this day, I only go to gay clubs. I’m perfectly at home there. I also like watching hot boys and hot girls who can dance.”

Beatrice Rosen was born in New York but raised in Paris where she started studying acting at the age of 10. Driven by an indefatigable work ethic and buoyed by soft features and luminous eyes, she quickly climbed the ranks of French TV and Cinema.

But France was only one stage. As her success grew, so did her desire to prove herself in Hollywood. Soon after a role opposite Mandy Moore in 2004’s “Chasing Liberty”, Rosen landed “Commando Nanny”, a Mark Burnett series for the WB.

Despite having lived in France her entire life, the role called for her to play a spoiled American brat from Beverly Hills. Through unflagging practice Rosen transformed herself from une fille Francaise to thoroughly American.

WWF new species film stars giant squid

BRITISH actors Bill Nighy and Gemma Arterton will appear in a fascinating new short film this summer, to highlight the work of leading conservation charity WWF and inspire an interest in the natural world.
Written by acclaimed writer-director Stephen Poliakoff and directed by BAFTA award winning Charles Sturridge, ‘Astonish Me’ takes viewers on a journey showcasing some of the world’s lesser known or recently discovered species, from massive insects to colossal squid, a fish with a transparent head and birds and frogs of every colour.
“It’s extraordinary in the 21st Century there are so many animals out there that we’re seeing or discovering for the first time,” said Stephen Poliakoff. “I was adrenalised when I found out just how much had been discovered over the past 10 years. I hope this film will get people exhilarated by the natural world.”
To be screened in Odeon cinemas across the country from the 29 July 2011, the short five minute film, using real images and special effects, follows the journey of a young boy who discovers a whole world of new species he never knew existed.

Gemma Christina Arterton was born in Gravesend, Kent, England on February 2nd 1986. Gemma and her younger sister Hannah (a musician) were raised by their cleaner mother and welder father. After attending a grammar school in Gravesend, and attending a performance arts course, Arterton trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) on a full government grant. She enjoyed studying at RADA and felt she was open to the processes the teachers put her through. "I was quite chilled, so if I got negative feedback I could deal with it, even if it hurt. It's good to go from somewhere that's so intense, and where people are studying you, to a big romp like St Trinian's."

Since graduating from RADA in 2007, Gemma Arterton has quickly become one of the rising stars of the British film industry, establishing herself in a broad range of eye-catching roles across film and television.
